RGS Riyadh releases ‘Walking In the War,’ the third book written by primary school student Shivaansh

RGS Riyadh takes immense pride in announcing the launch of ‘Walking In the War,’ the third book written by our student Shivaansh.

On September 26, 2022, the book was officially released by Mrs.  Deborah Evans, School Librarian, Mr. Stephen Deady, Deputy Education Director and Ms. Samantha Selkirk, Education Advisor and Head of Kindergarten at Reigate Grammar School, UK, and Mrs. Ann Philip, Academic Director, RGS Riyadh officiated the ceremony.

Shivaansh’s book publication, a milestone for him personally, and by extension, RGS, led to a happy swarm of well wishers of all sizes and ages seeking his autograph on his book. A smiling, calm Shivaansh happily obliged!

Child author Shivaansh loves to read, write, and compose poems. His first book of poems ‘Sprinkles’ was published when he was four. Soon after, he wrote his second book 'Clowning in 2020' during the Corona lockdown. ‘Walking In the War’ is his third book.

Walking In the War is a poignant narrative of war and the chaos and uncertainties it brings in the lives of two young boys. The young author Shivaansh was drawn in by the images and sounds of the current Ukraine War he witnessed on BBC. This project started as an assignment in his creative writing class and built into a full story amalgamating imagination and facts. The story, refracted through the lens of a six-year-old mind, focuses on the gestures of humanity and kindness that two boys experience walking in the war, while also faintly feeling the forebodings of a world out of joint. The book is available as paperback and e-book on Amazon worldwide.

Shivaansh holds multiple world records, including the current world records for the youngest author, poet and bookstagrammer. He regularly reviews books and shares book recommendations on his bookstagram page. Shivaansh is a reading ambassador. He is inspiring people all over the world to read and read more.
