Languages

Languages form an important part of the curriculum at Reigate Grammar School Riyadh.

In accordance with the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia, all students receive Arabic language lessons. Students can also opt to learn French alongside Arabic if they wish.

Lessons are taught by specialist teachers, beginning with an introduction to their chosen language in the Prep School, before lessons become more formalised in later years. Students have the option of continuing their language studies towards IGCSE level.

Islamic Studies is available to our Muslim students and all students receive Kingdom History and Geography from the Prep School upwards.

ARABIC

Arabic is a core part of our curriculum, fostering cultural understanding and supporting both native and non-native speakers in developing their skills in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension in line with Ministry of Education standards. Building on this foundation, we are proud to launch the Arabic Centre of Excellence, a new initiative in collaboration with our sister school Adhwaa Al-Hedaya, led by Mr. Akram Zaitoun. The Centre will enhance Arabic language education through innovative teaching methods, immersive learning experiences, and meaningful cultural engagement.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Reigate Grammar School Riyadh is a culturally and linguistically diverse community and is committed to inclusive practice that enables all students to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. For students who are learning and studying through an additional language, the school offers a specialist English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme from Year 2 to Year 13.

The EAL programme provides targeted English language support through small, carefully structured group sessions that are responsive to individual language needs and stages of proficiency. Provision is informed by ongoing assessment and is designed to support students’ academic progress, confidence, and independence across the curriculum. EAL lessons are offered for an additional fee.

We recognise the commitment involved in bilingual education and value the partnership between school and families. Working closely with parents, subject teachers, and pastoral teams, the EAL programme supports students in settling successfully into the school community, accessing learning alongside their peers, and developing the academic English skills required for long‑term success within a British‑curriculum education.

Designed to support children from EYFS to Year 6, the King Salman campus offers a welcoming and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and physically. Purpose-built facilities and dedicated learning spaces provide the ideal setting for young learners to thrive.

Early Years Provision (Nursery & Reception)

Our Early Years classrooms are carefully designed with specific facilities to balance structured learning with exploration and play. Ghirnatah Campus Overview (Years 7–13)

Key Stage 3 to Sixth Form,

The Ghirnatah Campus is home to students from Key Stage 3 to Sixth Form, providing a dynamic and supportive environment focused on academic excellence, creativity, and wellbeing.
