Pastoral Care And Wellbeing

“Reigate Grammar School Riyadh (RGSR) provides a safe, nurturing environment where safeguarding, student care, and positive relationships are clear strengths.” (British Schools Overseas Inspection, May 2025)

At RGSR, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and protected.

Our dedicated team ensures that the welfare of all our students is a top priority. This includes promoting their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. We are proud to roll out safeguarding training to our senior students, highlighting the key aspects of procedures and how to address any concerns raised to them via work experience in our prep school. Our aim is to ensure every student in secondary is familiar and aware of what safeguarding means and how they can feel assured there is always a member of the team on hand to address any concerns raised.

We continually follow up on practices within our school which can be developed and ensure staff are up to date with our policies and procedures. Some of the steps we take are:

  • All our volunteers, ECA providers and any external visitors receive in person safeguarding training with the DSL prior to any engagement with our students.
  • Regular safeguarding and child protection training is delivered to our facilities and new staff joining periodically through the year to ensure our students are kept safe and protected at all times.
  • Colour coded lanyards are provided to our staff, parents, visitors and external providers to ensure everyone on campus is clear on who each person is.
  • Safeguarding team intervention and Risk Assessed protocols taken prior to any residential trip to ensure the safety of our students.

Watch out for regular updates from the safeguarding team via our weekly newsletters to ensure parents and guardians are up to date with contemporary issues facing all schools and best tips and methods shared on how to deal with these challenging situations.
